I’m wondering what AP’s people take what works well for them right now I am taking seroquel it gives me really weird dreams at least I can finally get some sleep also makes me feel very groggy when I first wake up I looked online and zyprexa seems like another it might be good don’t have an appt with my pdoc until the 15th so I am on seroquel until then
I’ve tried lots of meds but not much changes for me. Some change more things than others. Right now I’m on Haldol. I have energy on it and I’m able to lose weight on it so those are positives for me.
I’m on 100mg of Paliperidone monthly. But I’m hopefully going to take 1mg tablets of risperidone in a few weeks time which is equivalent to 30mg per month.
I take Vraylar. I’m not sure what I have. Maybe I have schizophrenia or maybe I don’t. I have no clue.
Vraylar works. I feel pretty good taking it. I don’t lose weight and I still have shitty motivation. Maybe the cigarettes are to blame, I don’t know.
I’ve probably taken 10+ APs. Sometimes 2 or 3 at a time. I’ve been called treatment resistant and even a hard patient. I’ve been told by a neurologist that I’m not schizophrenic, that I have chronic migraines.
I have beliefs that I live in a simulation and I have DP/DR.
If you believe you live in a simulation then you probably have delusional disorder. If you ever developed paranoia you could end up psychotic though, and then you’d be diagnosed with schizophrenia. Is the simulation the only delusion you have? @insidemind
I have paranoia about the government and aliens. I rather not talk about it. I believe we live in a computer simulation and I used to be a computer simulator. That’s enough evidence for me. I believe my mind hasn’t been totally wiped like other people’s. I believe I also have a natural ability to time travel. I have time traveled with and without machines (mostly in my past lives/alternative realities). I’ve been told by my current psychiatrist that I’m either SZA-Bipolar or just Bipolar.
I’m currently on haloperidol and perphenazine. It’s what works best for me. I can’t take atypicals, though.
I’m on clozapine because nothing else works
Thanks for the responses does anyone have any experience with olanzapine ? That’s what I might be prescribed when I see my pdoc on the 15th he had mentioned it on the phone but said it can cause weight gain
The problem is these drugs are different for everybody.
You have to weigh up the risks and benefits of each drug and posted side effects and make your decision.
Me personally, I avoid anything that will increase my weight and chances of diabetes and I don’t like being zombified.
That leaves me with Amisulpride, Latuda, Abilify. Haldol and probably a few other typical ones.
I take Amisulpride until I grow breasts and/or start leaking milk out of my nipples!
I put on 35 kilos in two years, and I was a walking zombie the whole time.
I was on 20mg, which is the max dose, so if you can get it lower than that you may not get the extreme side effects from it.
As for treating symptoms, it did it well for me, however I think it achieved this in a kinda sledge hammer approach.
35 kilos holy ■■■■ I only weigh like a little over 60 kilos I can only imagine if I gained that much that scares me idk everything I look up has such a long list of side effects I already don’t like the side effects of my seroquel all these meds seem so scary
I weighed 59 kilos when I started it and ended up as high as 96 kilos.
I am now down to 79 kilos, but it has taken me about three years to lose that weight on weight natural AP’s with no exercise.
Wow I might not want to give it a try after hearing that I just want something stronger than the seroquel the fbi is following me and people tell it’s delusions and I try to tell myself it is but I still think about it its still bad sometimes so I know I need a stronger medication just hopefully one that wouldn’t make me gain half my current body weight
It’s a difficult one. All the drugs have different ways of working and unfortunately, you won’t know what side effects you will get or how effective it would be until you try it.
I was on Seroquel for about two years and I lost about 9kg so the side effects affect each person differently. Zyprexa shut down my voices, very well and fairly quickly but it raised my anxiety and aggravation. I guess you just have to try each one personally to see how they will affect you personally.
