What is it called when you hallucinate inside your head?

I get those, as well
It typically happens on the onset of sleep.

They’re all very dark. I’m afraid that if I write them down or keep them in any way that it will be inviting more of them. Sorry

Half of me thinks they are real. Was he bald by chance?

oh nevermind lol yes better not write them down then

The ones I can actually see with my eyes happen when I’m very tired, just going to sleep, or just waking up. The ā€œvisionsā€ happen at any given moment. Slightly more during the morning.

is it every day you have them or just sometimes ?

I don’t believe so

Is it easier to distinguish if its in your head? I guess even if it manifests in your reality its all in your head…

regardless of the source real or a product of your mind entirely there is something you can do that might help and its worth a try and doesnt cost anything and is actually one of the very few things that spiritualists and psychiatrists actually agree with each other on (although for different reasons)

its the cornerstone of cognitive behavioral therapy - positive thoughts or behavior attract positive experiences in return . when your scared that behavior/thought influences what comes to you its what you welcome without meaning to into your life and attracts more of the same and becomes a habit a way of being and can lead to panic attacks and it becomes a vicious cycle of negativity that feeds off itself . its not easy to have positive thoughts about a scary experience but combine the experience with a positive feeling get some candy and every time it happens pop some candy in your mouth or put on some of your favorite feel good music - do this every time if you have trouble having positive thoughts towards it.

feel free to private message me anytime

I ask because I used to see a man in a fedora as a kid. But he was bald underneath.

It’s very easy for me to tell the differences. Imagine trying to tell the difference between someone talking to you versus your own thoughts (not a voice but your own thoughts). Also… Good point.

Daily. Occasionally I’ll skip a day of Im extremely distracted with tasks.

Thank you starlight, I think this is advice most of us can pull from here. I also believe that like attracts like. I live it everyday. I’m terrified of them. I’m 100% convinced they’re real so it’s incredibly hard to tell myself otherwise. I like the idea of turning it into a more positive experience. I’ll have to do the music thing as I’m trying to lose weight before summer. This is a great suggestion!

I get them a lot too.

Pictures or images that take place/appear in my mind. I have given up on trying to define what they are. I just accept them as info from somewhere.

Perhaps you are a very visual person. I studied art and like to paint. Perhaps you can use them in some way. I have gotten so used to them I can change them by thinking. Try it.

I guess hallucinations are defined ( by scientists–not me ) as always ā€œbeing inside a person’s headā€ . Illusions are outside – like a rainbow.

I am also an artist by nature and thusly a visual person! I’ll definitely have to try this one out.
Ps. The definition are SUPER helpful!

I get this too. It is usually a really distressing vision.

I get it when I am trying to fall asleep at night.

I’ve had intrusive images since I was like 12. I didn’t get closed eye visuals till like 23. I had cev like fairly constant for close to 5 years. Only this year it has faded to almost none

Same here. Although I’m only 20 now so maybe they’ll go away like yours sooner than later.

i have something like this too, and it’s usually unpleasant, like the last time i had to go on a bus trip and an hour before, for a few seconds i saw a bus drive of the bridge

I constantly see myself in car accidents. To the point where I can feel my body breaking and hear the sounds of the car smashing, but there was a lot of fear surrounding driving for me before I was even symptomatic.
