What is Consciousness

The so called “professionals” don’t know everything.
I have had some very rude, arrogant, hateful pdocs, who thought they knew everything.
I don’t pretend to be very smart, but i do know they don’t know everything.

It might turn out that a really consistent theory of physics could lead us to understand exactly what consciousness is. But it might not. Consciousness might forever remain a mystery.

The point is- I really don’t know what to believe, when a “professional” tells me anything.

Consciousness is You

Im a philosopher

Is you screen name named after the Eagles song. I’m not very smart either but I don’t pretend to be…that itself makes us smarter than them

Yes, you guessed it. and 196 is for part of the 10 code they used to use for the scanners, but now i can’t even listen to it anymore because most everything is blocked or encrypted.

humans ’ think ’ they are intelligent… :bulb:
but your human history tells a different story…
take care :alien:

I sometimes wonder if you made an exact, molecule by molecule replica of your brain and your body if your consciousness would transfer to that replica. Personally, I think it wouldn’t. Your consciousness is unique to you. It is the loci of your experience and cannot be transferred to another entity.

Why do you think it is so vital for some to believe they are not part of what is?

some of us are observing the maze…from the outside.
some of us are observing the maze, within the maze itself…what the !?! :hamster:

Old Man Krishnamurti (over on that other thread) had the notion that the observer is the observed, not matter what. I used to agree with him until I figured out that we are outside the box when we are, and back inside it when we are. I have to do my little mantra (“observe to notice to recognize, blah, blah and blah”) to get there. Others have their ways, of course.

But my observer get hijacked all the time by the rats in my head who can’t find the end of the ■■■■■■■ maze. It’s just how it is, it seems.

Fortunately, Charles Tart, Art Deikman and Joel Kramer all got to that dis-cover-y way before I did. (I shrug a little more easily now every time I remember that.)

Or “parallel processing?” There were guys back in the '70s and '80s who could see borderlines doing exactly that. (Got no mas problema about that now thanks to Otto Kernberg and William Meissner. Whew.)

So, you are trying to become one with the maze.

Nope. Accepting that I am one with (or just down in) the maze when I an UN-conscious, UN-aware and mind-LESS. Otherwise (like when I have my “headlights” on), the maze is over there.

The father, the son, and the holy maze.

if the maze is an actual place, the human world :earth_africa:
and there are a hundred doors within the maze… :door:
and only one door :door: is the way out… :scream:
where is it ? :ghost:

Found this youtube channel awhile back and just now studying his videos. @notmoses

That, I think, is the Big Mistake. There must be at least 20 doors that now know of (including the meds, therapies and spiritual practices I rant on about).

(I used to dream an awful dream over and over again in the nineties that I was locked in a hallway of locked doors. I stopped having that dream 12 years ago.)

I have yet to discipline myself to fully integrate his practices in my life. This guy is not a religious ■■■■ nut and he does’nt teach that new age baby bull crap either.
