The thing with highly I.Q. people is that, we struggle with relationships and with the emotional intelligence… We may find it difficult to read other people’s emotions, feelings, thoughts and body language/facial expressions… Most intelligent people are highly introverted (having the INTP or INTJ personality type) so it makes sense why he is unable to read your mind like the average-intelligent people who have (much better) social skills.

Haha it will remain a mystery

I remember I went to a neuropsychologist I think he was called and they gave me a personality test and an iq test. I was 138 on the weschler scale. But my iq has surely gone down since I got sick, it’s weird how I feel stupider now- I don’t remember what random words mean anymore and I don’t have the critical thinking I once had. Had I taken the test on adderall which I used to be on it would have been much higher than 138

…hmmm maybe that’s my problem lol

It’s nothing but a myth, my friend. People with high IQ tend to be emotionally and socially smarter too. But not always.

You should be happy. 138 is extremely high. If you have ADHD and were on Adderall, you would have probably scored higher. They thought I had ADD as a kid, but I never took stimulants. That’s probably a good thing in my case. If I’m scoring in the 120s now, maybe I would have scored in the 130s before schizophrenia. If I was on Adderall, maybe I would have scored even higher. Oh boy, now I’m getting grandiose lol.

I was hospitalized at least 5 times and I never had a single IQ test.

Intelligence Quotient.

From Wikipedia:

An intelligence quotient (IQ) is a score derived from one of several standardized tests designed to assess human intelligence. The abbreviation “IQ” was coined by the psychologist William Stern for the German term Intelligenz-quotient, his term for a scoring method for intelligence tests he advocated in a 1912 book.[1] When current IQ tests are developed, themedian raw score of the norming sample is defined as IQ 100 and scores each standard deviation (SD) up or down are defined as 15 IQ points greater or less,[2] although this was not always so historically. By this definition, approximately two-thirds of the population scores between IQ 85 and IQ 115, and about 5 percent of the population scores above 125

I’ve been hospitalized in a dozen different hospitals in 3 different states and never been tested while in hospital. I was tested in college, though. I scored a 147 while on APs and other sedating meds. I think I did alright, though. I bet it’s a lot lower now.

No. Not at all @everhopeful.
Do you have ADD by any chance?

I was tested in the psych hospital after my 3rd visit, took a while with all the puzzles and ink blots and questions.
I later asked the pdoc how stupid I was, and he kinda laughed and said "No, …your definitely not stupid."
That’s all I could get out of him, and my regular therapist.
I still would like to know just because my two older brothers are supposedly geniuses- just ask them, the third brother is definitely brilliant- just observe him,
…and then there is their sister, the last kid, the only girl…me.
