What i meaning to say was did anyone have to send their medical records or meet with social security doctors during a disability review?

They have never requested my medical records for a review nor have I had to meet with anybody from social security. I just filled out the form and mailed it back In. I was just wondering why the have never requested them?

Not sure of the US system as I’ve heard it’s hard. Here in Australia I had to do an interview with a psychologist from the social security department. I took my mum as an advocate to that meeting and I put her down as someone who can deal with them if I’m symptomatic…like a power of attorney for them.

I’d imagine you’d be interviewed sometime in the future…someone who’se done that system will tell you!

My state may be different from yours. But once a year I have to send proof of identity and a bank statement (probably to prove the funds actually go to me)and a statement of what I pay for in housing and utilities. Also I have to do a phone interview with stuff like address, has anybody moved in or out of the household and some other questions. This went by pretty quickly.

But I have been in the system for 22 years.

your on ssi im on ssdi they didn’t ask stuff like that for me

yeah ssi. I wish the sza had hit me later in life.

I live in the province of Québec and when I became sick, I had to prove to the government that I was having a health problem that was preventing me from being able to work in order to have special social assistance.

And it’s very difficult to have it. Even when my doctor filled the paper to acknowledge that I couldn’t work and sent it to the government, the government doctors called me and asked me questions and tried to see if I was not trying to steal the government. They finally contradicted my doctor by deciding that I was able to work, but I was not.

So because of that, I have been fighting for 3 years for my right to have special social assistance and during this time, I was having almost no money because I didn’t have it and I had a 23 000$ study loan to pay.

Yeah schizophrenia hit me at 32 so I had worked for several years and paid into the system. I take it they have never asked for medical records?

You must have been actively seeing a pdoc @anon12381882, they will ask your pdoc for your records, not you.
Have you already been awarded SSDI?
Have you not attended a meeting with SSA’s DR?

Not necessary but as much info as you can give. In the UK

Are you trying to tell me that they won’t request my medical records if I actively see a pdoc? Since I answered on the form that I did. Btw I do see my pdoc. When I was applying for ssdi back in 2011 I met with a lady at ssa for an interview. I have never seen a dr. with ssa. This is what I am wondering about. Like why I never have?

How often do they review you? I’ve been on it for about a year and haven’t been reviewed I’m just curious.

Its suppose to be every three years for me. I got back payments that went back to 2009 even though I won my disability in 2011.They didn’t review me until 2014. Then I reported to them I started working and they gave me a review in 2015. I went into the ssa office with a question in feburary of 2017 she saw that I was working. A few days later I get a letter in the mail I am being reviewed. I sent it in and a few months later, I get a letter saying they are going to review my case at a later time and my disability continues.

The Ssa requests your records through your pdoc, because you wouldn’t have a copy of your records at home, would you?

not unless I requested them which you can do

But did you request them, and did you get them??
Are you expecting SSa to get your medical records from you?
Isn’t that your initial question?

If your already getting SSDI, which you are - right? Then why would it matter what was or not done?
Just trying to figure out what your asking.

Hi Anubis maybe your case is different. I got assistance so easily because i was so sick maybe they saw my hospitalizations

Yeah maybe you are right, By the way it took 12 years for the doctors to know that I have a mental illness it didn’t help.

I have not requested them. Disability reviews make me real nervous. I was just wondering what I may be up for in the future.

yes I am getting ssdi
