What helps me

WHAT I KNOW HELPS ME

  1. Don’t skip meds - yes I will feel better for a couple of days but then the 3rd or 4th day I’ll start feeling ill again.
  2. Make sure to eat plenty of carbohydrates - potatoes, bread, rice, pasta, etc. Try not to go all day without eating even if I’m not hungry.
  3. Avoid low carb high protein diets.
  4. Ban cola, even decaff, and limit tea and coffee.
  5. If I feel unwell don’t chain smoke because it makes the feelings worse.
  6. NO ALCOHOL - EVER.
  7. Write it down.
  8. Be aware the ABNORMAL way I’m feeling is in fact a NORMAL symptom of paranoid schizophrenia.
  9. Maybe turn off the TV and internet.
  10. LET THOSE IN MY CLOSE CIRCLE KNOW I DON’T FEEL WELL.

I agree with everything you wrote, except for eating a lot of carbs - low carb eating as helped me lose weight.

Don’t get me wrong, I love high carb foods, especially pasta, but from experience I know that these kind of foods are not going to help me in the long run.

A really positive post! Good for you!

Yeah they are - I eat veggies, some oatmeal - healthy carbs once in a while.

I have Diabetes, so I have to limit my carb intake, especially processed carbs
