It’s probably indicating that it’s two separate functions on the brain @san_pedro . It’s not new science but Parkinsons and sz are totally different in outlook and that is what happens with low dopamine like @Aziz has pointed out.
Seriously. Work on your diet and exercise frequently. It leads to way better outcome with sz as the modern research is finding. Keep taking your meds because even though they lack a lot for most we are in the ball park so those dopamine drugs do work for a lot.
If you’ve seen the news on the antidepressants then you’d know that the serotonin isn’t affected as we thought so it wouldn’t be suprising that antipsychotics are the same…It’s not an exact science and we’ve much to learn.
The positive symptoms are caused by high dopamine in the dorsal striatum of the brain thats proven 100% as meds block dopamine there but there are many theories about the negative symptoms one of which says low dopamine in the frontal cortex of the brain causes them.
