What do you take for negative symptoms?

My husband is amazing because I believe anyone else would have left me by now. I don’t take medication for a few reasons, and my “positive” symptoms don’t send me running, so to speak, so I thought I just don’t need medication (thinking only of APs) But it’s the negative symptoms that have affected my life the most, actually, and seem to be getting worse. Can I get some feedback on how you cope with negative symptoms?

I exercise the f**** out of myself and I hear that doing mental exercise helps too.

Thanks, @Apathy, and @far_cry0…I’m so frustrated because I seem to catch on to things so slowly. I guess because I haven’t killed myself, or ran down the street naked or anything, I thought I was doing well under the circumstances. There are times when demons, and my angel, are abusive and send me into a tailspin, but generally everything I see and hear is manageable. In my marriage, of just over two years now, I see myself more clearly not functioning and making my husband unhappy too. Plus, I get more stupid daily. I used to exercise. I need to start again. Thank you.

actually it s good drug.it doesn t feeling odd or like zombie.but i have heavily suicidal thoughts and high prolactine level and insomnia.except from this side effects it s quite good drug.i think minnie can have more good description about this drug because she is also female like you.

Thanks @far_cry0. I used to be in CBT before I moved and that was the most helpful. I had to stop seeing the therapist at the clinic near me now because he was an idiot. I live in a semi-rural area and need to drive awhile to get to anything civilized… I have to make the effort.

Thank you. If those are side effects, I’m already suicidal (ideation) and can’t sleep, but never could… I’m wondering if a doctor would tell me I have to do APs too to keep my angel from telling me to kill myself so it wouldn’t be worse??? Thanks for the info and help :heart:

i think it can help those symptoms.it s most expensive trustable and minimum side effect drugs on the market.you can talk with minnie she has also positive symptoms like you

Yeah hi :smile: invega sustenna is what I take for my sz and my bipolar. It’s called xeplion in the EU. But do you want to start an ap? With your age I don’t see it becoming a problem in terms of side effects and it would make your life easier. I don’t know if your hallucinations would go away since you have them for so long but it might make them easier to tolerate. I hardly have negative symptoms. Avolition mostly and memory issues since my psychotic break

Thanks, @Minnii :blush: Abolition and cognitive impairment are two of my main concerns, so would you say they are improved on meds or the same?

Improved definitely.

I’ve said before that I’m going to look into meds this summer while I’m off of work. The time is getting close. I appreciate advice and info! :heartbeat:

@Hedgehog Do u work.?
part time or full time…?? :alien:

That’s cool, I didn’t know. Good for you. It might help your life a big deal! I’m kinda rooting for you to find a good med.

Although I find amazing your endurance, I think with the help from meds that there is nowadays a lot of the trouble and pain is avoidable.

And also if it turns out they help you get rid of the hallucinations at least you can have a taste of what is life without them… :slight_smile: hope I’m not overstepping
