My family gets catered food from an old family friend. Chicken armando, pasta, salad, and rolls. It’s nice to not have to cook the day before Thanksgiving. A lot of people around here get takeout from restaurants, too. How about you? Do you have any special meal the night before Thanksgiving? Or is it just whatever?
To be honest it’s just me and my elderly father here in the house.
We don’t fuss over food or the holidays anymore like we used to in the past.
I’ll be sticking to my strict diet as usual and my father manages to cook for himself.
It takes a lot of discipline to be on a strict diet during the holidays, lol. Props to you, @Wave. I could never do that – even though I certainly need to diet. Anyways, happy Thanksgiving!
Thanks @anon49063606 but I plan on having whole grain spaghetti this Thanksgiving, I’ll be cheating just a little
Happy Thanksgiving @anon49063606!
Sounds good, man! Spaghetti is one of my favorites
We’re doing things backwards. We’re having turkey casserole the day before Thanksgiving and pasta on thanksgiving this year
just whatever for me. nothing special planned. your dinner sounds like a good time, you will have 2 days of good eating. jealous. haha.
Yeah I’m looking forward to it. This guy does catering out of his home, but he used to run his own Italian restaurant here in town. So the food is really good. I’m pretty fortunate to be with family this year for the holidays, even if it is just my uncle and grandpa. I prefer the smaller gatherings
yeah i hate large gatherings. i forget some of the people’s names sometimes that i rarely see, just on thanksgiving. mostly my brother in law’s family, i don’t know all their names, even though we’ve been introduced. usually i get there early and get a seat on the couch and just watch football while everyone socializes.
I’m no fan of the large gatherings, mainly because you’re supposed to “mingle” at those types of occasions. I’m like you – I just plop down on the couch and watch whatever is on TV. I hate having to answer the ole “how have you been?” question that always gets asked at those type of things
The children watch the Charlie Brown thanksgiving story the night before and eat what they eat in the movie. It’s a tradition.
That’s awesome! We watched the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving the other night. The food in the show actually looks good to me, lol
I hate large gatherings too I get lost and I even forget who died. Once I told my mother’s aunt where is her husband and she was shocked that I forgot that he died given that I was at his funeral and spoke to her. I was embarrassed.
It’s usually leftovers to make room for the leftovers from Thanksgiving lol
