My dinner will be Tuesday at lunchtime at my psych/rehab clinic. I’ll be alone Thanksgiving Day. All the food I have right now is bread, margarine, rice, lentils, oatmeal, and popcorn. I was going to go to the store and pick up a few things with what money I have left though.
I’ll be having a meal at group therapy and a family meal hosted by my mom and I Thursday
I will help my GMA prepare the food and I plan on leaving before everyone arrives.
Yup- we will be having thanksgiving dinner, here at my parents. It will be me, my husband, my parents, my step son, baby human, my nephew and possibly my brother…
I wish more people were coming but they got other plans
Oh yeah, I’ll be eating at my mom’s house. Really looking forward to it.
Happy Thanksgiving, @anon54988740 .
TG was last month for Canadians. My wife and I got stuck sorting out the home of older relatives. I think we had bad take-out.
We had a Thanksgiving dinner at the clubhouse. The dish I like best is the pecan pie, but it is so rich I can’t eat too much of it. I wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving. If you’re alone always remember that you can find company at this site.
We’re hosting Thanksgiving at our house. Happy Thanksgiving @anon54988740.
Yes, the usual thanksgiving dinner. My mom always goes all out. I have always been advocating fried chicken instead of turkey, but it’s been unsuccessful so far. >.>
We had Popeye’s fried chicken for lunch Friday. It was really good.
Last year I bought a rotisserie chicken and canned yams and stuffing mix and cranberry sauce. It wasn’t expensive and lasted four days. I don’t remember if I was able to swallow it though so I may not buy it, lol actually, I remember being very stuffed ( because of all the water ) and I remember coughing up food a few times because the pipes were clogged.
Yesterday my sister took me to the grocery store to pick out what I wanted for Thanksgiving dinner. She generously paid for the meal and is giving over her kitchen to me so that I can make dinner for her and my son. She is going to pick us both up at 10 and I’m going to cooking and they are going to do puzzles and eat the snacks I put out for them to hold them over till dinner.
I’m so happy for you, @Leaf !
On Wednesday I’ll be having a Thanksgiving dinner at my clubhouse, and on Thursday will be going to a friend’s house for a nontraditional Thanksgiving with sandwiches and pie. Then we’re going to put up that friend’s Christmas decorations. It’ll be fun.
Not really having a big dinner. Just making a turkey and a couple sides… just me, my dad and brother this year. Will bring dinner to my grandmother.
Yes, at my grandparents. I’m worried because I don’t want my family to have no boundaries by forcing me to socialize with everyone after eating. Plus, I have homework. It’s gonna be stressful and noisy with all the family that’s coming. Everyone brings something they cook. But yea, a few will be drinking and I quit alcohol a little over a month ago. Also, a couple of people will be smoking and I quit vaping over two months ago (and I smoked cigs before vaping). So, I feel like they’re triggering situations.
We don’t have Thanksgiving in Belgium but we do do Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
That’s awesome - hope it’s a good time for you all.
we are cooking a turkey and stuffing and mashed potatoes and gravy with cranberry jelly along with a pumpkin pie with cool whip. here at the house just for us and then I will go to my sisters house for thanksgiving dinner on thursday.
We did that last Saturday. It was a combination of a belated family celebration of my birthday and a nod to the fact that we spent real Thanksgiving here in Canuckistan cleaning a relative’s home. (It ate three long-weekends in a row on me.)
