I try to treat myself. Do something I enjoy, eat foods I don’t have every day, use a facemask
Day time naps, watch my diet
Go for a walk, play with my pets, watch TV, listen to music, write poetry.
A breath of fresh air always feels good.
listen to music
walk to shops or library - or on the beach
have a cup of coffee and chat with my husband or read a book
visit a bookstore
pray
I listen to certain songs to get myself pumped up to do something. It works most of the time. That or take a walk.
It depends. If I can’t keep my eyes open, I sleep. If I’m simply depressed, I draw.
I use a full spectrum light bulb for 15 to 20 minutes several times a day. But be careful not to do too much or you might make yourself hypo-manic. If it persists you may want to talk to your pdoc about a better anti-depressant than remeron.
I drink coffee or tea. It helps to counteract the side effects of the AP’s.
my morning smoothie is a pick me up. and when I play my guitar that lifts my mood some. and I feel better after my workout. but I sometimes get down in the evenings, don’t really have a solution for that, I don’t take anything for it. I just try to wake up a little later in the morning and not have much down time before bed, at night I watch a movie or basketball before bed so that distracts me from my evening depression some.
another thing that helps my moods is going on little short trips when I can afford it. living here depresses me, there is nothing to do and I only have one friend in town. I only have my hobbies and life gets old. taking trips helps me reset myself and I don’t mind living here for a 2 or 3 months afterwards.
Go talk to someone and help them in some way, lift their mood or whatever, works wonders.
Just about everything I do lifts my mood: prayer, yoga, meditation, reading, piano practice, music, cooking, social media, volunteering, attending cultural events, movies, playing with my cat, studying Spanish, attending Church, and interacting with family.
I have a friend over or hang out at home with my husband.
