The way I see it is you’re either tormented by problems or bored. But a special kind of boredom where you’re unable to do anything about it.
Play video games
Surf internet / YouTube
Make /eat food
Watch movies
Yeah, that’s my day
What I like about my illness is that I don’t need anything to beat the boredom now, my mind gives me enough entertainment.
That’s what I mean. Either tormented by problems or bored.
In my case they are not problems but simply an entertaining waste of time.
What’s boredom?
The torture of having a very long list of things to do, and being too symptomatic to complete one stinking thing…and worse, knowing the list continues to grow when neglected.
I know I’ve wasted many hours too paranoid to do anything but sit and stare out the window, other times I start on a dozen things to do, and by the end of the day, I’m exhausted, but nothing got done- in fact, the house looks worse than before I started.
On my list of things I might do are:
Go back to school
Volunteer
Excersize more (lift a weight)
Listen to lectures online
Listen / read a book
Research stuff online
…
Make my music usually. or eat
That’s the situation I’m in. Maybe that’s the way out of boredom. Go back to my “do one productive thing a day” method. Start tackling my todo list.
Thanks.
I go back and forth between here and other stuff:
-mostly chores around the house
-
have so many potted plants it takes me an hour to water them or just check the soil
-
I have this odd i idea that i will start doing something like make terrariums or living gift baskets for sale one day. maybe a street vendors license and a homemade cart.
-I have been watching a how to vids on utube about how to make the terrarium glass boxes with a sodering iron. i can already tin a little.
- I have been figuring out how to make an indoor green house from a shelves, how to most successfully root cuttings for new plants. Optimium lighting and schedule so will be ready by valentines, easter, mothers day etc.
All of this takes making alot of notes. so i have a guide along with my experience.
i am busy sodering leds strips to fit nicely on the under side of a shelf right now. Going to look for rpg strip with programming module. They are 24 volt transformer though. I will have to find out if they can replace the super blues and red leds. (cheaper long run)
If they can produce growth on miniroses this winter then i will know they have enough light intensity and color banwidths.(roses take a lot of light).
I can not deal with a job, i s!#/k at computers, i got to do something.
I cant beat it, everything is extremely boring, to the point where it causes mental anguish. I just suffer through it.
…i do this forum to kill 5 minutes here and there.
I’m really not bored that often,
Spending a lot of time alone is sorta my thing.
I write or read.
Maybe go volunteer somewhere?
Go to the local gym and watch women dance ZumBa it is hilarious
I spend my days and nights listening to spotify or listening to CD’s…or I play my guitar and banjo. I did have a ritual where I was eating roasted jalapenos stuffed with cream cheese, but I am sick of cream cheese now…gonna try to still make the peppers with cheddar this time…should fix the problem.
There are busy people who plan their days from morning to night. Also people in families spend their time with their children. Usually it’s the weekends & evenings that these busy people have free time.
Being unemployed or retired allows you to have plenty of time in your hands. It’s dismal to be bored and doing nothing because you aren’t utilising your time.
Fun things for @everhopeful
- try a new food once a week (you can order in your delivery)

- Go out and walk around town… or go to a cafe and have a coffee once a week as a new routine exercise (try a new coffee every time you go)

- Watch a new movie once a week. Try older famous movies
- Learn something online. Animation, coding, writing skills, photography

That sounds delicious,
Now I’m hungry, again…
I exist. I rarely if ever get bored. It’s weird but that is how my brain works on the meds. I keep busy enough that certainly helps. Having some goals. For me that is exercise.
