I suggest getting him a diatonic if he is a beginner. Check out nearly any harmonica by Hohner. They are quality instruments that won’t break the bank. Marine Band is a good beginners choice. Also I recommend buying him a harp with a plastic comb rather than wood as wood will eventually swell leading to mouth sores.
