What are you reading?

Hey people! How are you all?
I’ve been getting back into reading a fair bit again lately. I tend to start a book and then start another before I’ve finished the former. I get too excited haha.
Currently, im reading through an anne rice book called vittorio the vampire. Bad reviews but i love it. Read it about ten years ago so re-reading it now.
I also bought a little book by Marcus Aurelius called Meditations. Havrnt started it yet though. Gunna get some of that stoic philiosophy up in here.
So enough about me, what are you reading? Or what is a book you have enjoyed in the past?

I’m currently reading How to Sell a Haunted House by Grady Hendrix.

Haven’t been reading too much recently though. I caught some weird cold virus today.

@Montezuma haven’t heard of that one. Sounds cool from the title, though.

Yeah, it’s pretty good so far. I’m only on about chapter six though. It hasn’t gotten too much into the spooky stuff so far.

Thank you btw. I was out of cold medicine this morning so I took some generic Tylenol for my sore throat. Then I walked to my local grocery store in the evening and bought some cold medicine.

I’m reading Chapter House Dune…it’s the last one in the series written by Herbert. I’ll get through it but thought it could have been finished up three books ago but that is a bit of the problem with modern sci fi/fantasy. Anyways just bought Huxley’s Brave New World for a re read for 99 cents on kindle so that will be next …and for non fiction reading an actual hard copy book of Nick Cave’s early biography.

@rogueone i love brave new world! Some of that old-school dystopian stuff is excellent. Have you heard of the prolofic russian dystopian sci fi written in 1920 or so called We? By Yevgeny Zamyatin. If not, check it out!
I tried Dune but couldn’t get into it. I liked the recent movie though.

I’ll check it out. Yeah Dune was a great book the first one. It got increasingly strange after that and had that horrible dynamic where it reused characters. I just think that is a cop out when writing fantasy/ sci fi unless it’s done really well.

Anyways. On a bit of a Russian lit trip at the moment so I’ll get a book by Zamyatin and have a read…thanks for the recommendation.
