@JustTrish @Happy_H
Right now I’m listening to the audio book, the selection (a really good book I’ve read before)
But I’m thinking of starting one of the maybe 5 or 6 romance novels I have
I just saw a skunk outside lol you coming to visit, Skunky? Lolol
You’ll get there, Monte!
The best writer I have ever read is Linda Chaikin. The best series is the Silk series about a white woman whose family owns a Silk plantation in India.
I also loved The Good Earth by Pearl S Buck. It’s about a famine in China and the Chinese people would mix dirt and water to make a soup just to fill their stomachs.
@Loke
Sounds like some great historical fiction. I would probably have to cry if I read them.
You’re quality… your book choices confirm it.
Another book I couldn’t put down Little Women and The Help.
Right now I’m skimming a book about Arabic grammar but it’s hard to concentrate on.
@JustTrish. Thank you. There was a book I read that was awesome I think it was called Under the Mango Tree or something
You can read books free on Gutenberg.org. I read about Josephus on there
im having problems reading. I do audio books. It works.
Has anyone ever read Quicksand or Passing by Nella Larson? I made my high school honor’s students choose from a selection of five books for a report, and hers were in there. Very interesting from a historical perspective.
Yes, sometimes I grieve the loss of acquaintainceship with characters after I finish a book. I know what you mean. Yes I do.
I’ve started reading a book called “All but the queen of hearts”
The help… I saw the film adaptation. It was riveting. I’ve seen little women, too.
If anyone, YOU can get through that book. I believe in you!
@Wayne there’s nothing wrong with audiobooks. I’m proud of you!
@Happy_H I’ve not heard of her… I’ll keep her in mind when I’m looking for books.
@SkinnyMe
I usually wait a few hours before starting a new book. I love to see new plots unfold, and I just love to read. What’s your favorite song? To listen to? I just wish I could have listened to your music. I think of that every time I see you. Friends?
That sounds like a book I would read. Let me know how it goes?
@JustTrish so far it’s pretty good but I’ll be sure to let you know how it is in a few days
I love reading. It’s my favorite past time. My favorite genre is Scandnavian mysteries and suspense thrillers. There are some excellent authors from Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Norway, and Iceland.
However, recently I’ve been reading books by the Scottish author, Peter May. Many of his books take place on the Isle of Lewis off the coast of Northern Scotland. I recently finished two of his books, “Coffin Road” and “I’ll Keep You Safe”. I just started “The Man With No Face” which takes place in Belgium.
Currently, how to make this duck kick my taste buds to the moon on new years eve.
Have you ever heard of Maeve Binchy? Her fiction is set in Ireland. I enjoy her!
I haven’t heard of Maeve Binchy, but I just googled her. Do you have a favorite book by her?
