What’s your plan for when karxt comes out? I always wanted to be an accountant and computer programmer. I have an associates degree but I might really go back to school too, and study and work?

I think you’re expecting too much of karxt , it’s just going to be another medication.

Probably it won’t change anything for me. Like all AP meds it will most likely only work for a few and not the majority. That’s just the harsh reality.

The reality is that until there is real clinical experience we cannot know what the life of a schizophrenic who takes KarXT will be like.

I wouldnt put all your hopes and dreams on 1 med.
Maybe it fixes one problem but then you realise it doesnt solve all the rest of lifes problems.
Better option is to slowly work towards your goal now and hedge your bets.

I just want to say that I hope for karxt all the other 4. Gen antipsychotics treat a broader spectrum of the illness and that it make a difference to our youngsters with this very debilitating condition. For me it’s to late to try anything new out cause I have used the old meds for to long a time.

If this karat was truly a breakthrough in treatment of neg / cognitive symptoms. They wouldn’t use may, could , thought to help with those symptoms
I am interested in it if it treats positive with less side affects like weight gain sedation and akathisia.
I will talk to my pdoc about it for sure
