Not aimed at you @anon85745701. It is sort of my attitude after being a doormat for the first 30 years of my life. I am 38 now and doing better now that I learned to assert myself.

I literally woke up one morning and made a decision to change. Was thinking of that little saying:
If you help someone once then they will remember you the next time they need help.
I am still happy to help close family and a few other people who always treated me well but I am not as generous to the average Joe Schmo as I used to be. I will help them but I expect some sort of compensation. Another little saying:

I was a mistake, an accident, a neglect, hastily put together. No need to mention screws or screwing.
I used to be a screw up but I “straightened up and fly right” now. screw loose? no more…I love a good screw too…!!
