I’m not looking right now but in the future.
Is this a good way,
Join dating sites then say searching for friends.
It seems a real good idea. Search for guys and gals then not just guys
Anyone done that before?

I’ve heard joining a hobby club could be a good way to find new friends. But I have never tried that. I met a lot of Chinese Sz friends on the forum and then I built a QQ group for like minded Sz friends. Now we have 12 of the members and are enjoying each other’s company. All most all of us have an interest in reading and writing. We compose poems and then make comments to each other.
Volunteer at a food bank or other charities, brings out the good people
Thanks for the tips guys. Good ideas. Idk if I can be asked with volunteering though but otherwise it’s a good idea.
you should try a mental health club…therse are places where mentally ill folk ca n go to partake in activities like art creative writing, drama, yoga or group therapy to name but a few or else just drop in for a chat or a coffee…you should look in to it…by thea way some countires refer to menatl health clubs a s clubhouses
Thanks yea that is also a good idea. I used to be part of one, it got shut down due to funding.
But they might reset it in the future
In my local clubhouse for mentally ill, there is a fitness centre.
I wil go there when it opens. I think exercise is a good way “to be together apart”
And maybe meet a friend?
Meetup.com. You go to the site and look for activities that interest you. Then start going to meetups
Well, in the digital age it seems like a lot of people are using the internet to find friends.
But the other suggestions by everyone on this thread are all great ideas.
I’m trying to use Facebook to make more friends in my area. I’m not having much success with it though.
No dating sites are not good for friends for me. I don’t like hanging out with someone I never seen in real life. I made most of my friends in schools and university. I lost them bcz of sz and then made a friend through family connections, my parents know his parents. Then that person introduced me to about 10 other friends.
I think making friends irl is better than online because its easier and sometimes more reliable.
Online dating is good but not good to make friends for me. The easiest way to get friends is through existing friends.
I joined the local mental illness club and volunteered. The thing about the mental illness club was i got to meet other people with schizophrenia. It was good tho, it was just hard because people have their own life going on. I didnt make any friends because i only went a few times but im sure if i stuck it out and tried to be more social i wouldve had some friends.
My volunteering got me in touch with some really good people, the kind that give up their Fridays and Saturdays to help clean the alleys in the ghetto. It was a drop in type thing, just had to sign a waiver.
Instant friends, just add water.
The volunteering thing is a great way to find quality, level-headed people.
I play competitive cricket. I also volunteer my labor at the cricket club. Sports are a great way to meet like minded people and it works for things like pastimes or games.
