Thinking of changing want to know what to expect
I take 90mg abilify, and I have no side effects
I hope my new pdoc will lower doses of abilify.
I feel strange sensations in my head, like
mini strokes
Is that a high dose?
Yes. I think the highest dose must be 30mg
Get blood tests every 6 months to a year. It can raise your blood sugar. I’m on metformin for that now.
does it cause restlessness?
Not for everyone but it does for me. I take supplements to take the edge off that.
what dose are you on?
I’m on 15mg.
10mg is the minimum dose for schizophrenia. 30mg is the max dose.
5mg is only used as an addon to an antidepressant for depression.
Oh I see so what would be the equivalent of 3mg risperidone? 15mg probably?
I took ability for 3 months and it made me restless and jumpy. I felt I couldn’t relax or rest. There are folks though who take it and have no side affects.
Thats what I am worried about had that feeling on fluonxol.
I’m on abilify injection and it gave me severe anxiety so I have to take something additional for that.
But all together, a great medication that hasn’t made me gain weight and kept me sane.
I have zero anxiety to the point where a bit would actually be welcome
I got hiccups on 2.5mg Also I’m not sure if it was Abilify but I think it made me almost psychotic, it wasn’t fun.
Things just feel more overwhelming, Ive got a shorter attention span and I can’t excercise how I used to
I was on Abilify for years.
Everyone is different but for me it caused a lot of anxiety and paranoia.
But I must say it was really good for me physically.
I managed to lose 30 pounds on it.
It also kept me out of the psych ward.
Restlessness and Akathisia are common side effects with this drug.
I actually got a substantial increase in physical strength when they put me on Abilify. Also, I think it may have helped a little with the secondary symptoms of sz. They eventually had to take me off it, because it made me too antsy. You might give it a try.
