What about a book club?

I vote a hundred years of solitude to put on the list, it’s an awesome book and I wouldn’t mind reading it again

What language did you read it in?

Read it in portuguese.

I’ve just read the sample on Amazon. Looks good - put it on the list! lol

I can’t think of a book to suggest - I read old very common classics mainly and they might be a bit square for some of you youngsters. I think this has been good to shake me out of the 1800’s and into 2015.

I’ve got this sitting on my table and I really should read it… something is still holding me back.

I’ll let you know how it is when I do.

So far:-
The Bridge - Iain Banks
One Hundred Years of Solitude - Gabriel Garcia Marquez
The Eden Express - Mark Vonnegut

They’re all on Amazon to download.

Any other suggestions?

Just remember:

Vonnegut first attributed his recovery to orthomolecular megavitamin therapy and then wrote The Eden Express. Vonnegut does not presently attribute his recovery to vitamins. He subsequently studied medicine at Harvard Medical School and later came to the conclusion that he actually had bipolar disorder.

That’s cool… I didn’t really know what to expect. If he could eventually see it as BP though… I’m guessing his experience was very much unlike mine.

My brain has it’s own sense of freedom & will, and for whatever reason it refuses to concentrate on books & reading books. It’ll happily watch a debate, browse through some forums, or catch up on some short Youtube videos, but the attention span is null & void for book reading.

I’d like to recommend Reaper Man by Terry Pratchett.

I’m on page 121. You people need to catch up!

I was thinking maybe 4 is enough now - and we should maybe make a poll where it’s all fair which one gets picked - but I can’t work out how to make a poll :anguished:

I’m game to read any one of them.

You put

[poll]

  • option 1
  • option 2
  • option 3
  • option 4
    [/poll ]

(without that last space there)
