The publishers let me cancel my contract with them free of charge. No legal aid needed, everything is fine. Thanks be to God!
Now to seek another publisher! But I’m going to lie low for a while, and lick my wounds…

that’s great to hear @Hadeda I self published a book and it’s available on amazon and other online places…very small sales since I went anonymous on the book (no book signings that way) and I wish I had put my name on the book but oh well…too late. anyways, good for you.
