We are getting our bags ready and deciding what we want to take with us. Taking it seriously after what happened to Santa Rosa last year and Redding this year. Stuff doesn’t matter but there are some things that can’t be replaced and if you see the fire coming and have the time why not save what you can.
Be safe friend!!
Stay safe @Leaf!
sorry to hear, can’t imagine.
Sorry to hear that @Leaf. Stay safe.
the ash started falling yesterday, I thought oh god here it comes - not again. There’s been years when they have surrounded us. This one feels scarier for some reason. I guess it’s because I had to be evacuated from the Redding Ca fire when I was in the hospital there and I’m have some mini PTSD from the whole situation.
■■■■. Hurry and get out.
Stay safe, friend!
I had to evacuate in a wildfire when I lived in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. It was scary. We had both cats with us and the bare essentials in one of the last taxicabs that made it across the westside bridge. Had we waited ten minutes to call, the roads in would have been closed. Spent the night in a cat friendly hotel and went back the next day.
I’m in Ontario and the smoke from British Columbia is making our sky greyish overcast looking. I don’t smell it but we’re not getting the rain we are supposed to. Had to water the lawn today. I haven’t watered the lawn in ten years.
Maybe rent a storage locker for all your stuff for a couple of months until the threat is over.
Oh my. I’m so sorry. You are in my prayers. Good for you for getting out of there.
I hope everything turns out okay and that you get out of the way quickly and safely. *hug*
