Today I went and picked up my best friend and I treated him to the movie theater. We went to see Dune:Part 2. The movie was great, but it was over 2.5 hours long and I got anxious after being there awhile…and, get this…two adult tickets plus two small popcorns cost $46.50! It wasn’t even an IMAX theater! I had some gift cards that my parents sent me during the pandemic that I used, so there wasn’t any actual cash cost, but good lord! I don’t think I’ll be going to the movies again for awhile…
And that is why I never go to theatres. Well, that and the other theatre goers.
I remember going as a kid and getting 50 cents back out of a 5 dollar bill…

There was a Saturday afternoon matinee at the theatre of my small town when I was six or seven. A dollar would get you into the movie and a small pop and a popcorn. The movies were also ran stuff like The Cat from Outer Space or Escape to Witch Mountain, but it was all totally lit at that age. Well, other than I have always had the problem of not being able to filter my inputs so it was so hard for me to concentrate on the film.
That’s totally true mrs @creeppotatopie.
We would totally do a cattle run during the day, hit the saloons by about 4pm and be at the theater by 7. Those were the days.
She’s just cranky because we ran up the national debt on stuff for ourselves and stuck her with the tab.
