I hope the stimulus never comes quite frankly because I’ll probably end up spending money on something I don’t need to please the Social Security folks. There is also very little room in my place and literally no where to store stuff. Of course I could give a nice donation to charity, or whatever legal options exist for me.

Uh, you don’t want $1400? You can do whatever you want with it. The government knows that a percentage of people will pay bills with it, or use it to go on vacation, or stick it in a savings account.
You can do any of those things-- or something else. I mean this doesn’t happen often. How many times has someone given you $1400 for free? Giving it to charity is nice but are you really out of ideas to spend it on yourself? Take your friends or family out to dinner. Put it towards the next two months of rent. Pay your monthly bills with it. Buy clothes. Use it to make your life a little easier.
I can kind of understand your position though. I’m doing OK with money right now, I have no debt. For awhile, I was thinking I didn’t really need the stimulus. But just two weeks ago, I racked up over $2000 in dental bills. My stimulus will mostly go for that.
That’s how finance’s go, that’s how fast they can change. If you really have no ideas what to spend it on currently then keep it for emergencies. I know well myself how bills can crop up when you least expect it, just out of the blue and change you’re whole financial picture in the blink of an eye.
You can spend it on anything you want, you don’t have to please SS. Even with the stimulus, I’m pretty sure we will still get our monthly SSI or SSDI checks. IDK the rules Social Security has for spending this check or if it needs to be spent down. You can call and ask them or maybe go to their website.
I’ve read a bunch of articles on SSDI and this stimulus and never read anywhere that we have to spend it down. Maybe I just didn’t read the right articles but there’s ways around it like just getting $1400 in cash and keep it somewhere in your house. Or spend it on entertainment, or birthday gifts or maybe traveling. I haven’t heard if we have to spend down.

I’m also waiting on my stimulus check. I hope I get it soon because I’m behind on medical bills.
