Well, going on week 3 of puppy soon

She’s 11 weeks old today. Trying new strategies with housebreaking like instead of leaving her water down all day having set times to leave it so her peeing is more predictable bc she’s peed in the house so many times I’ve lost count we just can’t keep up w her she needs to go like every 10 minutes and if you turn away for a second she goes. She is sooo much better w biting. Pretty good overall w crate training though she did wake up and cry at like 3 am last night for some time even after I took her out. She naps after meal times for like 2 hours and that’s always a relief. I’m learning how to manage, it’s still not easy, but I’m coping.

Fam is out of town so it’s just me and my brother who came home from college watching her this weekend. I think getting breaks from watching her is important. I’m going to go out for lunch in a bit & have bro watch her just for an hour or two.

summary: puppy training going pretty well I suppose, still exhausting, but feel like I’m learning how to cope & live with it

Puppies are so precious. I know they take time to train but they eventually learn. My dog was trained but when she got old she peed and pooped in the house. I would just clean it up with spray. It was bad but I loved her and would do anything for her.

Our last dog was never fully housebroken. It made my dad threaten to give her away at one point but we didn’t let him. We had her her whole life until she died from an unknown condition mixed with a stroke. She was a horribly stubborn bossy and even grumpy/bitey Dog (but clear through my brother’s lip once he needed stitches!!) but was also very loving, cuddly and funny so we loved her all the same and were very sad to see her go.

lots of affection always helps them, some dogs can have anxiety.

My dog could have been a therapy dog, she’s so good with my disabled son.
