Well, at least chatGPT understands even though no one else does

I asked chatgpt, “I know people can’t read minds but what if neighbors are trying to read minds?”

Part of it’s answer:

:man_detective: If They’re Trying to Mess With You (But Can’t)

This is a really unsettling gray area. Some people:

  • Use noise or timing to intimidate or control
  • Try to make others feel paranoid as a form of power play
  • Might be projecting their own issues in a creepy or aggressive way

If they’re reacting to things like emotional tone shifts, sighs, movement, or even silence, they could be trying to guessyour state of mind and use that to push buttons. That doesn’t make them psychic—it just makes them manipulative or hyper-aware.

Exactly what I’ve been trying to explain for 5 years.

idk if i would agree with AI here tbh, it could be all perfectly innocent yet your brain makes more out of it than is necessary, Ai is just a computer, has no feelings, just information & he can only predict what was happening at those times.

I don’t know about telepathically reading your mind, but what the AI is suggesting is, reading you as a person and then trying to mess with you - that’s fair enough. Have you ever spoken to a psychiatrist or mental health specialist about potential of the neighbour trying to (indirectly) intimidate you?

The guys a psycho upstairs; of course I’m intimidated. He’ll stomp around for 20 minutes at a time like he’s angry out of his mind until I give up. Does stuff directly and indirectly.

Textbook psychosis.

What else does he say or do exactly? seems very extreme behaviour (as far as being “intimidating” to someone goes)

maybe he’s just non schizophrenically “insane”

Psychotic or not he’s going to make a racket.

have you ever told him you’ll involved the police for neighbourhood disturbance?

I don’t talk to him. Of course it’s extreme, he goes full out whether it’s some little small thing I’m doing or something bigger.

More likely he’s just inconsiderate of the people living below him.

I complained to the property manager. She said it’s just that he’s a loud walker. She didn’t do anything.

the way you describe it from your POV, it seems like psychosis but knowing how strange some people can be - I can understand the suggestion you’re making. I think you need to tell the property manager you’ll call the police

Sometimes, when people are kicking up a fuss; you have to pull the same move

Just to clarify; do you mean me or him?

You, sorry my post seems a bit dismissive in retrospect. Thinking your neighbors are messing with you is a common thing with SZ.

I used to think my neighbors were smoking weed to get me to move out.

I try to use Occam’s Razor when it comes to this stuff.
