I have been close to an earthquake in the California desert. It was a 7 something. I thought a tank was going to run us over or an F18 was flying into the building. But a guy from Los Angeles pooped up and said earthquake and went back to sleep.
Thankfully it wasn’t an urban area. This was before cell phones. I went to the phone trailer to call my parents and had to jump from the steps to the trailer. It had shifted in the quake. My parents said yes there was an earthquake in Los Angeles. I said if that was in Los Angeles it is gone because that shook the hell out of the desert.

7 something is a big quake. 3.5 just lets you know it’s there. It’s just enough to remind you that you live in earthquake country. I grew up living on the San Adreas fault line and sleeping with my shoes beside my bed for safety but I’ve been away from the fault line and not having to worry about it for over 20 years. It’s weird to keep having these little reminders that I’m back. It’s unsettling.

Gawd damn…Mind you I holidayed in California between LA and San Franscisco and it was an amazingly cool and great place…

We experienced a categorically minor earthquake here in VA in… I wanna say 2011? Would have been nothing to you folks out west but it really scared us because we don’t really get earthquakes, lol.
