We can live long time

It is Sunday and I went to our main church for their services, it was nice and then they told who had died in this week, many of them were over 90 years old, and so we can live long time, me to be 90 years old I still have to live 40 years, I have taken a habit to visit my local church every Sunday because it is very near my place.

They’re developing a new technology that manipulates the parts of cells that cause aging and deterioration in the body, enabling people to live 250 - 300 years with the body of a 25 year old. It certainly raises a lot of interesting questions.

Huh?

To me this sounds a bit backwards. Our bodies aren’t engineered to degrade on purpose - it is just that the resources that are relied on for continued bio-genesis are limited and themselves degrading with time.

I accept, however, that we (humans) don’t currently exhaust these resources effectively, for a myriad reasons. Tangentially it stands to reason that you could theoretically support these resources to continue to operate more effectively for longer, but the very cells you might well be referring to as causing aging etc. are necessary components of the ever-complex immune system and it is certainly not a simple matter whereby one thing is bad and should be eliminated.

Would be very happy to live 90 years. But not so sure about 250. Maybe if they could cure sz. Otherwise 90 years would do me just fine. (Have quit smoking and drinking as well)

Whatever the best saying is when you want to tell someone they’ve done a good job: infer it here.

Quitting smoking and drinking is a massive achievement. I hope you keep reminding yourself of that, mate.

I had a smoking habit I picked up when I had been in Europe few years, luckily I stopped that habit.

Then you get a nice empathetic statement too; whichever one would make you feel the best, infer it here.

Seriously. I am having some bad cravings. It has been 3 weeks I think.

Thanks poly. All the best to you and your quitting the smokes.

I honestly don’t understand the desire for longevity. I’m so relieved to be in what I’m hoping is the home stretch. Stay here longer for what?

I was 50 when my first grandson was born. I decided to live long enough to see him turn 50. Just a little over 38 years to go.

I say i don’t want to live past 75 but idk I’m only 21. Though who knows how long anyone will live. I could get run over by a bus or step on a land mine today
