I take this comment as an encouragement. Thank you. I tried my best to learn English and I hope ageing doesn’t affect my progress.
So you’re in mainland China? I’ve always wanted to see the Guanxi mountains. I used to sponsor some orphans at the orphanage in Tianjin. Years ago.
I think you’ll be fine. I tried before to learn Chinese with no success. I think it’s arrogant of the United States to expect the whole world to learn English and not require its citizens to learn other languages. And languages should be taught in elementary school.

Yundi Li is also a famous pianist.
Wow, that’s so nice of you to sponsor the orphans in China. Yes, the scenery of Guanxi mountains is fabulous.
You have a really beautiful take and philosophy toward music and indeed toward art in general and I really admire and appreciate your viewpoint. Thankyou.
It reminds me of a time when I once attended an annual art show in my city where there were all these beautiful paintings, photographs, sculptures, and many other works of art both simple and elaborate and in between. But beautiful all. In the midst of it all, what did I come across but 3 rough, russet potatoes sitting in a pile on a small table, as an art display. I thought out loud to those around me, What an ugly little display, and, This guy calls himself an artist?, How dare he?
Do you know, @anon4126574 , that years later, I realized that the only art display out of that whole show that year that I can vividly remember is those 3 russet potatoes sitting on that little table. @anon4126574 , my music must be those 3 russet potatoes.
I called that bad art. I call my music bad art. But is there such a thing?
Which city are you living in now? I live in Shenyang,China.
I live in Nanjing. The South of China.
Haha. I am 45 years old and I was diagnosed with sz in 2001 when I was 25 years old. What do you do for living? or have you retired?
best wishes.
Yes, Taiwanese, Hongkongese, Singaporean look down upon Chinese mainlanders.
Some Chinese Americans would look down upon Chinese mainlanders too.
I was an engineer in the joint ventures of GM in Shenyang and worked there for a short period of time and then I was fired by a Chinese American because I wanted a promotion.
I have retired and am living with my husband. You can PM me for a chat.
Wow. That’s actually really inspiring and a good question. And if we say that all art as a breath or thought if the almighty I guess all art is invaluable. Those little potatoes were created by God for nourishing of our bodies as a gift from God. And what’s more beautiful than the love of God?
You are soooo right @anon4126574 .
Thanks haha hope it’s coming along. Your story is unique I hope you share it
I’ve been playing piano for 40 years, and I can’t play anywhere close to how Lang Lang can play, so you are not alone. I was jealous of him when I first heard him. I play piano for ballet classes as part of my job, but players like Lang Lang have made me feel very insecure. I just have to concentrate on what I can do and be inspired by others if possible.
