Time to make tea for the family

Ok if u r happy with that good for you

but there’s always hope on the horizon

Forums are made to pass time and yea like @Bowens said, its just like watching tv or playing video games. I learned stuff here about sz, meds, other mental illnesses, covid, news, improved my english and learning more about the US, etc

Also I pass lots of time here on most days as I stay in bed a lot so this forum is really the main thing I can do in bed while listening to music and vaping. I try to go outside but its rare that I succeed at getting outside except for Dr apts.

Before joining this forum I was on a computers forum, I find this sz forum more helpful and better.

I dont think its a waste of time. It has helped me. I cant talk about schizophrenia anywhere else online. Not everyone is able to find people who understand. Not even all therapists are able to understand schizophrenia. Communities and talking I think it improves chances of recovering, vs. going out and “living life” when things aren’t even that liveable. I am working on fitness, health, and also sobriety.

Well, I am here to talk about Schizo things, that’s nowhere you can talk.

Ya I am also mostly here to pass time

But I wish I was more productive and some progressive things like other normal people happen in my life too

Good for you that it is helping u out

But for me real life is the real deal

Easier to face the world when you have a support system to fall back on if things head south. That’s healthy planning.

That u r certainly right

If you wanna talk schizo things this is the best place to be

Well I do not necessarily agree with that

If that’s the case with you then you r weak and doing well irl will be a daunting task

Uh huh. I’m married, have an adult kid now, and have worked pretty much full-time these past two decades despite having SZ. I’m very successful in my current career and am well-regarded in my community. I function so well that most neurotypicals who know me have no idea I have SZ. I have fun hobbies and enjoy my life.

How are you managing?

I’m quite confident by your previous posts that @shutterbug is doing better at real life than you are. You really are a rude little guy.

ok well being outside is not necessarily the only aspect of real life haha. I am taking online classes they are no less real than taking class in person and actually a bit harder because theres no one to teach them and Its harder to reach out and ask questions. If you find yourself spending too much time online or on the forums i would recommend taking a break and not judging the whole forum itself thats a mistake because everyone is in their own space in life rn.

Well I didn’t know about your profile

From what you have written it looks like you are doing well and that’s good for u and am happy about it

I am definitely not as well placed as u r but I m striving to be

My point about ur previous post was that if you rely on a support system to fall back on then u r weak or not that strong, that’s my opinion and u can disagree

But if it’s working for you then good for you

Ok fair point

But I m not judging anyone or anything

Just my opinion

It’s important to have a support system in order to function properly

Well there’s no need to get personal

Also calling others rude doesn’t speak well of u

It shows who is really rude

like I’m the one getting personal. You called him weak first.

Ok if that’s what you think then good for you

But my ideas r different

Also having a support system in ur own family versus online friends are different things imo
