Walking: A Step in the Right Direction

Like other kinds of regular physical activity, walking at a brisk pace also may offer health benefits, such as

  1. lowering your risk of high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease, and type 2 diabetes
  2. strengthening your bones and muscles
  3. helping you burn more calories
  4. improving your fitness
  5. lifting your mood

I try to walk for 15 minutes a day. I walk slow. I try each time to walk faster but I have no drive and motivation.

I walk slow too, and with music, I don’t know if I could do it wihout music…it would be so boring to the core.

I don’t walk with music. I was thinking about that before my walk yesterday.

Years ago I would listen to music. I don’t have any headphones right now though.

But then you can’t hear what’s going on around you. I’d be too nervous to walk outside with headphones on.

Really, how comes…I like blocking everything out, the surroundings is too overwhelming for me sometimes in the town

I would be too scared that I didn’t hear someone following me or that the music would distract me so much that I didn’t see something I should have seen. That I wouldn’t be vigilant enough and aware enough of my surroundings and something bad would happen.

I don’t know if I walk a brisk pace or not. I assume I walk 3 mph. Not really sure though.

I am pretty sure my pace is slow…everyone usually walks ahead of me…kinda depressing cos it never used to be that bad lol

I’m really short (so small steps) and have pain while walking. I walk super slowly. About 2-2.5 mph
