i don’t know about you, but I have a hard time sleeping. The voices wake me up in the middle of the night. When I finally decide I’ve had it, and I get up. I am so groggy it feels like I am trying to wake up the dead. However if I go back to bed, I am wide awake with fear. Anyone else have problems like this at all? Any suggestions? Pdoc won’t give me sleeping pills, gives me gabapatine for anxiety at pm and am. I am waking at midnight-1:30a.m. Every morning. Don’t take naps. Suggestions, please?
I am in a similar boat. I just got 2 hours of sleep - from 11pm-1am. No sleeping aids for me either. I am on a low dose of a sedating antidepressant, but the dose is too low to help. It’s getting frustrating. I don’t function well on so little sleep. I don’t really have any suggestions for you, other than to possibly have your antipsychotic tweaked if you’re still waking up from voices. Avoiding TV and the computer before sleep is good too.
Keep pushing for the sleep aids i would say.
About all that you can do.
I practice good sleep hygiene methods, no computer or TV an hour before bed, all lights out but one and read until sleepy in quiet house, no background music either. No caffeine or other stimulants(chocolate, tea, and sugar) three hours before bedtime. Going to sleep isn’t the problem, staying to sleep is.
Like I said, maybe your antipsychotic needs to be adjusted if you’re awaking to voices.
I had 4 different sleeping pills last night. I slept 4 hours. I mix my pills to get some sleep at all. Quetiapin, alimemazin, zopiclone, nitrazepam. I slept 4 hours. That would have knocked out a horse!
