For me haloperidol is vitamin H. It makes me feel a lot better than I normally would. Of course I have only been taking 1mg per day for the past 10 years or so. So I don’t have side effects at the low dose.
What about you? How does your Haldol make you feel?
I take 50mg haldol and I am not sure if it helps 'cause I take 3 antipsychotics
50 per day? that is A LOT… can’t imagine the side effects from that

DO you take 5mg pills or how do you ingest that?
I take 30 mg of Haldol a day (1.5 times 20 mg tablets). I get extreme fatigue, drooling, occasional constipation, and blurry vision. My pdoc and i tried to lower it to 20 mg last April - June but I got very psychotic again so had to increase it.
You’re lucky you benefit from the low dose. 1 mg does nothing for me.
I’m on the haldol shot. It’s a lot less side effects than the pills. I like it. It gives me a bit of a tremor and causes some akathisia, but nothing too bad. And zero sex drive. Which really sucks.

How many MG of Haldol do the inject monthly?
100mg. It’s roughly equivalent to 10mg/day.
Haldol was really a godsend for me. I almost died because of Geodon. And abilify and risperidone didn’t help my symptoms
I feel the same way. It literally saved my life many times over. I love haldol. But last summer or stopped working as well for me so I had to add perphenazine and now I’m thinking about dropping the haldol altogether.
It’s true… it can stop working so well overtime. It used to work better for me. I wonder if there is any other medicine that would work for me. I’m scared to try!
I was the same way. Haldol was the first med that really worked for me after trying a dozen others. It worked brilliantly for about 5 years.
I brought up this issue with my doctor and he said that the medicines shouldn’t loose their effectiveness overtime. They aren’t like street drugs or alcohol where you should need more and more. I wonder why we both experienced this then.
