This is not a med I know much about. I couldn’t do prozac because it was messing with my bladder. So my doctor prescribed this one to take 1-2 times a day as needed. Of course I have anxiety and get stressed about everything every day so I really need to take it every day lol. Its an antihistamine. I wonder if it will help with my allergies and maybe my bladder too. I think it was pretty clever thinking on part of my doctor.
I am just concerned that it could make me sleepy 
It also says that it is only a short term treatment for anxiety. I’ve had anxiety for years and I don’t see it going away anytime soon…hmm…
Yeah, Vistaril can make one drowsy.
Vistaril (hydroxyzine) is an antihistamine used for hives, itching, etc. Because it causes mild sedation, it’s also used as an anxiety med or even as a sleep aid.
vistaril was my first anxiety med but didn’t work at all, hope it works for you
Well I took it and so far no anxiety I suppose. But it’s also hard to tell because the thing I was so worried about is over now.
So vistaril does absolutely nothing. I don’t really get any side effects from it (except maybe it makes me kind of tired) and it does nothing for my anxiety either. As I understand it its one of those meds thats supposed to work right away as opposed to one that takes weeks. I haven’t noticed any improvements.
However I’ve been thinking and im not sure now that my issues are due to anxiety it may be due to depression or just negative symptoms. Considering I’m already on treatment for depression and there is nothing for negatives I’m not sure there is much I can do
