Anyone on VR?

I’m currently on PSVR.

Would like to hear what your favourite headset or games are.

I’m waiting for the release of facebook horizon to but a headset for the social experience. I’m not really interesting by games.

I mess around with vr… The games aren’t really there yet. Standing gets really awkward… Control schemes are entirely inconsistent.

VR is cool… Has a lot of potential. Unfortunately it is limited to being too niche for now.

I have the oculus quest. Which would be the only real bet out there on behalf of a company to be trying to target a wide audience.

Out of the box though, the console is pretty limited… And 2 years into the platforms life the library of titles is incredibly limited.

I think Half-Life Alyx is about the only AAA experience one can find. The rest is all just hokey tech demos. Granted a lot of them are neat.

What they really need on the oculus quest is that you put it on and it just works… No more drawing play boundaries (seriously every time.)

Man half the time I’m playing VR I’m stuck going back and forth… Taking the thing off and on just to get things set up right.

In my opinion it’s still numerous innovations away from being as fluid as simple as home consoles.

Nowadays you just pick up a controller press the button (my xbox will even turn on my TV), and then boom you are seconds away from gameplay.

The quest might as well be a dead console in my eyes because they force the use of a Facebook account. I was lucky version 1 didn’t require that.

Hopefully, a more open-source flavor of portable VR will come to be.

As far as I can tell though we’re 5 to 10 years away from VR starting to look like what we all expect it’ll be. You put on the headset and bam it’s like your somewhere else, even with friends… And not wii-esqur avatars in over-simplified environments… I mean bizarrely different and strange places.

I totally agree with you on that, 5 - 10 years and I’m sure VR will be incredible!

My brother’s best friend has oculus quest 2 and recommended it over console VR.

I only purchased VR because of the book “Ready Player One” and wanted to be able to say I played the original VR before it gets super advanced in the future

I can’t wait for vr to be the size of sunglasses, then I will probably try it. It’s cool it exists tho, apparently vr has been around a long while before it went mainstream even before the virtual boy.

I worked for Oculus, Quest and Rift S as a game tester. Gun games and sports were the best for me. I tested unreleased games. There was a game named National Geographic, its also fun, you climb ice mountains, row boats, etc

That’s cool you worked at Oculus @Aziz.
I’m tempted by the new Quest 2. I’ve watched countless unboxing videos. I’m not much of a gamer though. Looking to kill some time during second UK lockdown. But I think decorating should take priority which will cost some pennies.
