Just called her saying I’ll try her document scanning job and she said after the training she wants me to find a job right away. She acts like “we agreed” my goal is to do office work and we should stick to that goal. In reality she wrote that down herself and I never wanted to do it! Then I told her I want to try substitute teaching and she says that’s not part of our goal and does not fit me. I said in that case, unless I find a job that perfectly fits me, I’m not finishing the three month period needed to keep the job. In the mean time I’ll apply to substitute teach on my own. My main reason for wanting to do it is because it pays $30 per hour here and if I wanted to get any old office job, I don’t even need vocational rehab. I have experience in office work already! They also won’t pay for any classes or training. I made myself clear. I don’t know why the government even has a vocational rehab program. She sounded like I was unreasonable for not wanting to do office work. I vow not to “settle” until I find a job that perfectly suits me.

Way to go @anon62973308! Stick up for yourself and stay true to yourself!
You’ve got to be assertive with people sometimes, that’s for sure.
