Using a lot of diary products and some fun facts

I really, really use a lot of diary products each week. At least two gallons milk a week and I live alone. I also use every other kind of diary product.

Note: whole milk has 5% fat. So when you see 2% milk it just means 3% less than regular milk.

And it is known that the Roman soldiers ate a lot of cheese. It was cheap and easy to make.

I’m sorry for you if nothing you eat cures your hunger. I’ve been on medication like that before.

On another topic, I always wondered why Spam was so damn salty? My guess is it was for depleted soldiers in WW2. Today we never run the risk of being depleted of salt because so much salt is used in food.

And in WW2 kosher Spam was distributed for Jewish soldiers, which was made of beef.

Never thought I’d live to see it but now they’re saying milk can be bad for you.

Of course you have to consider the source. This article is from PETA. If you read articles by milk companies or cow farms you are going to get a different point of view. There does seem to be a lot of people casting doubt on how good milk is for you and how much you should drink. Make up your own mind.

Sometimes people say “it’s unnatural for adults to drink milk”.
In some cultures, lactose tolerance goes away when they reach adolesence.
I’m scandinavian. My ancestors selectively bred for hundreds of years to ensure the genetics that would let their descendants ingest the very best natural source of kalcium and vitamn D for as long as they need. And I’m damn sure not gonna let that go to waste just because some vegans think it’s infantile.

New research seems to show legitimate concerns on how good milk is for you; and there seems to be new information that shows how much is good for you.
Like I said above, you can find many articles on the subject but you have to consider the sources, the dairy industry is liable to publish information about how lots of milk is good for you while certain other organizations (such as PETA) are going to publish articles on how bad it is for you. The answer probably lies somewhere in the middle. It’s worth reading some of the articles though.

Hey Nick! I am so grateful to still be clean and sober! I might go to a noon meeting today, even though I feel like an outsider. It’s so hard to take suggestions for newcomers and I have shunned taking many suggestions about addiction and mental illness, especially lately and I just squeeked by in life so I’m not a good example. I like doing good things without effort. I most of the time just refuse. But I went to a ton of meetings in the past though I haven’t had a sponsor in twenty years and do no service work. I don’t know what step I’m on. I don’t feel I’ve ever worked the fifth step or the amends step( #? ). I don’t feel I should be corrected by the members. The only requirement is a desire to stop using not recover! I’m not going to tell a newcomer this because it is harder.

I don’t want to be that kind of person, but you are wrong about the milk fats.

Whole milk contains 3.25% milk fat by weight. In an 8 oz glass it contains 8 grams of fat.

2% milk has 2% milk fat of the total weight. So an eight oz glass of 2% contains 5 grams of fat.

So the fat percentage in milk is calculated by total weight, not subtracted from each other. Based on this you are probably drinking more calories than you realize, just fyi.

This link explains everything.
