back about ten years ago I tried my hand at being a professional artist. I stopped because I thought it was too hard to think up new projects…now, I am doing it again, working as a professional artist and I found that if you sketch enough you never run out of ideas. It’s so rewarding…just a trick to creativity I thought I would share.
I have 20,000 words of a novel written to a very near complete standard, and I have read through it and edited it many times
The book would be like the sci-fi of old, and I think it would make a great film
My artistic block has been that the story is based on a psychosis/‘delusion’ I had.
I think in pictures, so it’s very hard to write without it being highly triggering.
That’s my passion, and I suck at getting it over the line…
Used to sketch a lot, and I designed my tattoo sleeve on my right arm.
Maybe I might try something a bit more like you did.
I thought your Jupiter painting was really cool - it’s exactly the sort of thing I paint/hang on my wall!
great idea xx i need a way back into art xxx
how long for? did you, when you started ? do you now?
@Joker that’s awesome man…you might self publish it’s really hard to find a publisher…science fiction !! my favorite !! thank you about the praise of Jupiter, I am very proud of that painting…
@Three how long did I sketch? about an hour a day. I didn’t before the first time I tried painting professionally…I sketch now.
I feel like I have Stop having inspiration and ideas to paint… I suppose through the Internet There are unlimited ideas maybe set a target
I’d love to get started again
I think I might even have some talent i did it for the first year of Covid
i’m so busy at the moment I don’t know
so not an excuse Not to make a start
And I put all my materials away
pencil and paper is always around
aren’t you the painter of landscapes? I think I remember your work…you are very good if this is you…don’t give up…sometimes life takes up our time. @Three
if love to share some work with you
everyone has seen it in the forum but
i’d love to see yours
yea i’ve done city scapes and landscapes and all kinds of other stuff but that was where i finished
I found I really like to paint trees…if you look at yesterdays posts I posted my latest commission of the “moons of Jupiter”. that’s all I have right now…I deleted the rest of my photos of commissions…
oh my god, that’s beautiful xx
oh my, thank you !! I thought I botched it the first time I looked at the finished product…like it now…everyone seems to like it so I like it more…your work is just as good or better.!
i’m such a beginner !!
that’s such a nice thing to say xx
didn’t you do something in palette knife once? I loved it…never forgot it.
I threw away some stuff
but i’ve always got pictures of it
It’s funny you say that, I used to be left-brain dominant until my head injury, and then my right brain took over. You must be right brain dominant because that is visualizations and imagery.
@Three oh no ! that’s like burning books…never throw away art…you can have it in a gallery !
@Cragger I concur about right brain thinking…I was trained to use the right side of my brain in architecture studios…have ever since…come up with some amazing things sometimes when I really try. good you’re an artist.
We ran out of space, Canvases are really difficult to keep I’ve got loads of other stuff though… Boxes of it
you should enter an art gallery with so much material !! put them on a busy sidewalk on display , anything but throw them away !! art is precious…and so are you !
Thank you! I only threw a few bits to sort the other bits went to family and friends this is the last thing I did
It was inspired by meeting a friend
did you post a picture? I can’t see it.
