Used to think I couldn't cut it as an artist

back about ten years ago I tried my hand at being a professional artist. I stopped because I thought it was too hard to think up new projects…now, I am doing it again, working as a professional artist and I found that if you sketch enough you never run out of ideas. It’s so rewarding…just a trick to creativity I thought I would share.

I have 20,000 words of a novel written to a very near complete standard, and I have read through it and edited it many times

The book would be like the sci-fi of old, and I think it would make a great film

My artistic block has been that the story is based on a psychosis/‘delusion’ I had.

I think in pictures, so it’s very hard to write without it being highly triggering.

That’s my passion, and I suck at getting it over the line…

Used to sketch a lot, and I designed my tattoo sleeve on my right arm.

Maybe I might try something a bit more like you did.

I thought your Jupiter painting was really cool - it’s exactly the sort of thing I paint/hang on my wall!

I threw away some stuff
but i’ve always got pictures of it

It’s funny you say that, I used to be left-brain dominant until my head injury, and then my right brain took over. You must be right brain dominant because that is visualizations and imagery.

@Three oh no ! that’s like burning books…never throw away art…you can have it in a gallery !

@Cragger I concur about right brain thinking…I was trained to use the right side of my brain in architecture studios…have ever since…come up with some amazing things sometimes when I really try. good you’re an artist.
