US test scores remain below pre-COVID, performance gap widens

It’s partly because they no longer hold back students when they fail a grade. They get pushed ahead into the next, more difficult grade, where they will perform even more poorly.

I think it’s the quality of education. Also, parents play a role too.

My wife tries to offer a quality education, but she is stymied by her admins and the parents of the kids. Not joking.
