So much relief today. Good news! I talked with the person who manages these situations at my school about my weird situation in regards to reporting my condition to the nursing board. She was incredibly helpful and understanding, and said it would not affect my acceptance into the program. She is also asking a board member about some things she wasn’t sure on (not using my name or anything) and so will have definitive info about what I need to do to be able to take the NCLEX here shortly.
Mainly I am massively relieved that this will not impact my acceptance into the nursing program as that gives my therapist time to get to know me more and then write a letter for me. Also my therapist seemed to change attitudes entirely from unsupportive and skeptical to extremely supportive and encouraging so I hope that my message to her (I sent an excerpt of the post I made about disability & society) made some things click. Having her support made me feel so much better, she said she’d do whatever was necessary to help me reach my dream (you know outside of like unethical things lol) which is awesome.
I just feel like a massive burden is off my shoulders today. The lady at my school is totally awesome and I’m glad she has that job. I’m glad my therapist is on my team now. I was feeling very alone and unsupported before and felt I had no chance of becoming a nurse and now it’s all turned around.
Great day overall.
summary: Nursing concerns resolved themselves and I feel decent about the future again
