Unbelievable, this is bad

The pharmacy informed me that my old pdoc is refusing to refill my Saphris and Cymbalta. She left a message to have a new doctor fill the rx. I don’t have a new pdoc yet and my new general practitioner doesn’t feel comfortable prescribing these psych meds. I’m still waiting on a referral to meds management. This is un-freaking-believable. I’ve been trying since June to get this squared away with nothing but bureaucracy in my way every step of the way and I’m finally in the home stretch and now my old pdoc cuts me off. What am I supposed to do? Go cold turkey off my ap? Jesus. How is it beneficial to anyone to cut sza’s off their antipsychotics? When I left I told her it might be awhile before I could find care and she said not to worry she would cover me. Now I’m going to risk destabilization just because of some stupid ■■■■■■■ protocol.

This must be stressful. Sorry to hear you are going through this. I would call up your old Dr. And explain your situation to them. See if they will then fill your meds.

That’s unacceptable! No one should be put at risk like that.

I hope you can figure something out!

I just got my prescriptions re-upped at the local emergency department as I haven’t been able to find a local doctor (bit of a shortage right now). Took my bottles in, explained the situation, and told them either I got a scrip now or I’d get one about six weeks down the road as part of an emergency admission, their choice.

Walked out with three months of refills for both head and heart meds. The doc was easy to work with, they like hearing that an SZ is making an effort to be med-compliant.

I guess that’s what I’ll have to do either that or start rationing the saphris.

I wouldn’t go to an ER room. The bill for that could be quite high. I would go to an urgent care and explain your situation.

Sorry to hear that. Do you owe them money or something? I owe my pdoc doctors group $2,300 from a 2012 hospitalization. I’m trying to work it out with the collection agency @ $50 a month, but they are incompetent af.

I’m supposed to hear about my referral by the 19th but I don’t know how long it will take to get an appointment after I hear from them. Could be a day , could be a month.

No I don’t owe anything, they just have a protocol that you have to be seen at least every 3 months

Yes, sorry, I’m Canadian. We don’t get billed for this.

Oh it’s fine. I don’t pay anything for healthcare.

The ER may be your best bet if you explain the situation. Preventing psychosis is an emergency.
