I went to visit my parents. I took all my meds with me and my haloperidol came up missing. My partner thinks my brother stole them to sell. I think I dropped them somewhere. I can’t get a refill until January 3rd. I don’t know what to do. I’m already hearing things.
man, that is awful !! perhaps call your pdoc and explain what happened? I hope you either find your pills or get some new. Sorry @cbbrown

That’s what I’d do, call your prescriber. I mean stuff like this happens right they have to understand.

Why can’t you get a refill until Jan. 3rd? Can’t your doctor phone in a prescription to the nearest pharmacy sooner? I don’t know if they do that. Maybe the nearest pharmacy can give you an emergency supply. Or maybe the nearest clinic or hospital. I get my meds through the mail. Maybe on Monday your doctor can put some meds in the mail to you. Maybe you can have your mother-in-law do something on her end to get some meds to you. Maybe she can make some calls to someone to get some meds to you. Is there an emergency room near you? Maybe they would have some meds for you.

I called my prescriber and his nurse said I had to file a police report. My in laws want me to file a report against my brother. Oh yeah I can’t get meds till the 3rd because that’s when Medicaid will pay for it.
Doctors get stories all the time about people who lost their meds or “accidently dumped them in the toilet”. People do this on purpose to get an extra prescription to sell. That’s why they’re making you file a report.

Can’t you just report them stolen? It’s their job to find the thief.

I’m not absolutely sure about this but I seem to remember that pharmacies can give you an emergency supply of drugs now and than Medacaid will pay for it later. I kinda remember something like that. It doesn’t hurt to ask. And while we’re on the subject, I’ find it hard to believe that there isn’t something that a doctor or pharmacist or clinic or hospital or whatever can’t do for someone who needs medication in an emergency. Have you called around?
I have called around, my current clinic still can’t get me in until after the new year maybe even till February. The local hospital said I would have to have a mental evaluation. I got a hold of my old pdoc and they said they would try to call it in. I called the pharmacy and they can fill it by the 27th. I have a couple of halves I can take one a day and still maintain some in my system.

OK, that’s good. The 27th is better than having to wait until the 3rd at least.
