Unable to sleep

For the last 3-4 days, I’ve been unable to sleep, especially at night.
Usually Clozaril knocks me out.
Is the bipolar part of me going to have an episode, soon?

I can’t sleep because I have energy :frowning:
I feel like I already slept even though I haven’t.

I have energy and can’t sleep but that’s probably because I sleep during the day.

@wayward, I hope you are not going to have problems. Maybe you should call your pdoc?
Maybe try 50 mg of Benedryl or a generic equivalent, it’s available over the counter or as a prescription.
Nothing super strong, just an anti-histamine that can be helpful in getting drowsy enough to fall asleep.

I have been taking long naps during the day as much as possible and cutting my sodium and upping my potassium intake using myfitnesspal. This is really helping control my blood pressure better and I don’t seem to get my chronic headaches and sinus problems as much. I tend to wake up in the middle of the night and don’t always get back to sleep unless I poop. The long naps also seem to be helping to heal my back injury quite a bit.

I see my pdoc on Thursday, though I doubt there’s much she can do

My friend got used to the clozaril overtime.

Maybe melatonin will help you

Since I started abilify I wake up in the middle of the night. For no reason.

I find that every time I start a new medication I have a period where I’m waking up in the middle of the night. It eventually goes away though.

Did you decide to take it in the morning or at night in the end?

Unable to sleep due to having too much energy does seem like it could be a warning of oncoming mania

Maybe you are worried about something.
Certainly talk the guy who make you take this medication, soon.
Nobody died so far of sleepdeprivation.

At night… 15151515

Do you feel restless at all when waking in the middle of the night?

If after a while has gone by you still keep waking up it could be worth trying taking it in the morning. I think the people I know irl on it, more of them find it activating than find it sedating

I have insomnia every night, but I think it’s an sz thing we can all relate to. Has nothing to do with anything on my mind, nothing experiential at all. I’ve just gotten used to it.

Yes, absolutely. I cant sleep and it has nothing to do with anxiety or depression or something that’s on my mind. Its just that i have insomnia as part of sz. Its not even a problem of mania/hypomania.
