Ugh...I have to leave to have a wisdom tooth pulled in a half hour

I have an appointment in an hour. Have to leave in a half hour. Really not looking forward to it. The tooth is way in the back (of course since it’s a wisdom tooth), and I expect it to be a pain. Then I probably get to look forward to jaw pain and socket pain for at least a week. If the appointment wasn’t so soon I think I’d cancel it. Oh well, have to have it done sometime I guess…sigh.

they will not leave you with a pain, they’ll give you meds

Maybe…the last couple teeth they did not give me meds though…This is the oral surgeons(specialists) instead of my dentist though, so maybe they will. And thanks for the good luck wishes!

They need to give pain meds after extracting a wisdom tooth. If they don’t you should go online a write negative reviews.

Good luck! I had to get all 4 of mine lut a few years back. I didnt get any pain meds, but thats because I’m allergic to almost everything. I was fine, though. It wasn’t as painful as I thought it would be.

I’ve had all of mine pulled and didn’t really notice any pain.

3 of mine felt totally fine afterwards. 1 was impacted, and that one made it hard to ride in a car for like 3 days, because the vibrations of the road made it ache. But I was fine other than that.

I had a rotten one that bled for like two days afterward. That was fun. I had to stop the car twice on my short way home just to spit out the blood so I could lower my head again. Probably shouldn’t have been driving.

You’ll be fine.

Honestly, for me, I was in less pain after the surgery than before, because my wisdom teeth were so painful as they came in.

When I had mine removed I ended up with a dry socket and my jaw bone exposed. Even with opiates I was in a ton of pain. I thought it was normal and went a week in tremendous pain before I finally called the dentist. They fixed me up right away though so that’s good

Well, I’m back from the removal. The operation itself went fine. They did have to give me a self dissolving stitch. They said they sent a prescription for pain meds to my pharmacy but when I stopped by the pharmacy they said they hadn’t received it yet. Anyway, no pain yet but the novacaine hasn’t worn off yet either so I dunno.

The most pain I think was from the cost. It was 425 for the extraction , 162 for Panoramic X-ray and 115 for “Lim Oral Eval-Prob Focus”, whatever that is. Evaluation I guess. For a grand total of $702! That’s a lot for one tooth! I’ve had non wisdom teeth pulled for $263 at regular dentist. Anyway, it’s done and over.

Thank you to everyone for the good luck wishes!

Glad all went well. Yeah, the dentist can be pretty pricey. I shattered all my molars when I seizured a while back, and it’s $4,000 for the work they need to do to rebuild them. I’ve had three parts done, now the upper right still needs to be done. That’ll be another $1,100

Ouch!!
