I have two new members of the family. I don’t think I could have another frog anytime soon. Jasper was the devil in disguise as a cute puffy frog.

They have a vet appointment in three weeks. I hope they get a clean bill of health. 50 bucks for both rats.

Are they fixed? If not, keep them apart unless you want lots of babies. I messed up and ended up with a lot of rats over 3 years. Just finally became rat free this spring.
They kinda came from two people who didn’t know the other was planning on giving me a rat. My partner got me honey then her little sister got me dude. They are Male-female. I want to get dude fixed but first check up. Dude is laid back most of the time unless a treat is involved. Honey is spunky. She still bites sometimes. But only once did it draw blood.
My mother in law wanted me to name them Margaret and dumbo. But they answer I swear it to their names honey and dude
Do you have them separate? If not, Honey is likely already pregnant.

They are separate. I forgot to mention that. They do not interact. My partners 12 year old cousin tried putting dude in honeys cage but luckily I came in time to prevent anything from happening.

Baby rats are awesome, but they can breed at 5 weeks old. That’s why I ended up with a lot.

That’s what I was scared of. I know some who had an accidental litter of rats like 17 babies from two different mothers
My females would have 15 to 18 a litter. After the first accidental litter i bred for a pet store. But I was stuck with the older ones.
Not that i minded too much. I loved them.
They are very cute.
I love them both but I dont think I could handle more than two.

Very cute. I hear rats are very intelligent animals. I used to have dwarf hamsters growing up. One was a little meanie. The other was a sweetie so when he died I constructed a beautiful underground tomb made out of bricks. To my knowledge that tomb is still in that backyard.
How lovely, they look pretty suspicious 
in those photos but they seem like they’d be friendly if you have some chow in your hands.

Aw I’ve taken care of dwarf hamsters before. One was a chinese dwarf hamster the other was a robo dwarf hamster. The female Chinese dwarf hamster was pure evil. I tried taming her nothing worked
