Feeling a little weird about taking two APs. 1 mg of Risperdone and 50 mg of Seroquel. It works, I am stable but low motivation. Started Strattera to help.

Welcome to the forum. I’d say that’s normal. 1mg of risperdone isn’t a lot and neither is 50 mg of seroquel. It makes sense your taking two cause the doses are so low. I’ve been prescribed seroquel with another ap before. It made me drowsy for sure. I’m not sure but that may go away with time.

Welcome. I personally take 3 antipsychotics. Haldol 50 mg, Caplyta 42 mg, and Geodon 40 mg. I don’t think its unusual, but probably not the norm.

I’ve never heard of someone taking 3 AP’s at once. I’ve always taken 1 at a time but I know a lot of people take 2 at once.

I’m on 2 APs, haldol and Latuda. I just got off of Zyprexa cuz i told my pdoc that i couldn’t take the urge to eat everything in sight. My meds make me tired, too.

I was on resperidone and then my doc added Seroquel. A couple of years ago he put me on the Invega Sustenna and took away the resperidone. So now I’m on an injection and 300 mg of Seroquel.

Yeah, I think it depends really. It depends on how severe it is and how well it responds to treatment.

I’m on two different APs
3mg of Risperdal and a extremely low dose of Abilify, 2mg for depression

In the hospital they gave me like 3 aps to settle me but i sure wouldnt want that on a day to day basis.
Maybe if your treatment resistant they try that longterm. Pdocs just try stuff until your stable enough.
My current pdoc said his goal for me is as little medication as possible that allows me to function normally. But thats for me specifically.
Your 2 aps dont sound like a high dose so thats probably okay if its helping you.

Unusually low doses of both.
How are you feeling on this combination?
I think the Seroquel is being used at a low dose to make you sleep?

I’m currently on 2 APs, as well. 80 mg Latuda, and 6 mg Vraylar
This combo, along with an AD, really helps me. BUT, I am tired too most of the time. I’d rather be a little tired than symptomatic, though.

Ive only ever taken 1 ap at a time. I guess taking multiple depends on how treatment resistant someones illness is.
