Theobromine is the main stimulant in Cocoa and is sold as a supplement. You can ofcourse get it by eating chocolate too.
I can’t drink anything with much caffeine in it because of a stomach ulcer, so I tried this supplement today. It’s nothing like caffeine, but if you CAN’T drink caffeine, it might be a good alternative.
I also ordered food certified cocoa mulch/shells which can be drinked as tea as they also contain considerable amounts of theobromine. It also has very small amounts of caffeine in it, equivalent to decaf coffee.
My experience today was good mood, and it kept me alert. I hope my stomach tolerates this.
I do take 50mg(a quart of a caffeine pill). Anything more and I get problems sleeping. The caffeine pill don’t seem to irritate my stomach, but beverages with caffeine do, also eating dark chocolate is no go. Adding the theobromine to the mix seems to help a lot initially. Will see how it works out in the long run. It’s milder than caffeine, so I expect it to work out.
