I have reviewed Mountain Home in my past life as a writer. Their foods are great for backpacking.

A friend and I talked about hitting the Appalachian Trail sometime before my limbs fall all the way off.

Yeah I want to do the Appalachian trail in my lifetime. It’s a feat!
It passes by my house pretty close. About 15 miles from me.

We don’t plan to do the whole thing. But my friend has family near a part of it. Thinking of a weekend or week trip

I’d love it. Haven’t been on a real camp trip in over 20 years.

At my previous home, about 7 years ago, I hiked the state forest beside my house daily.

My old art teacher used to say that there is something that happens in the mind when you’re in dense forest that there may be psychiatric benefits to hiking, given that we naturally evolved to do so. I personally love it. I hiked a whole day on the trail in Atlanta. It was beautiful
