So kinda eating out of tins for a while

Every winter our village gets snowed in for like 3-4 days. No traffic in or out.

So I buy tinned food in bulk every fall. I have a lot left over from 2018 so I am using it now. Is just like tinned stew, beans, potatoes and casserole.

Not the healthiest but it needs eating. So having lots of beans on toast lol

Beans on toast!

Must be a regional thing.

I’ve never heard of that.

Sounds pretty good.

Not weather related, but I’m in the same boat next week because of money. Lots of pasta and canned soups in my future.

Tinned food isn’t exactly totally disgusting , but IMO, apart from tinned fruit, it has a funny tang to it .

If you have flour eggs and salt you can make homemade noodles (well you need boiling water too). I don’t have a rolling pin so I used paper towel roller. So if you’re down to your last cent and are craving pasta. There you go.

Sounds good. I tend to really enjoy canned beef stew.

I can’t have flour, unfortunately.

We’re eating rice and beans, beans and rice due to money as well. We always say just one gift, but end up getting our kids so much. At least we have something to eat. Also my parents take me grocery shopping when we’re running low on money.

Yep, no wheat and no legumes including peas and green beans.

I know that health food stores sell alternative flours but they are expensive. When I was a rich ■■■■■ I could shop there.

Yeah, I used to use them a lot but not so much lately. I just avoid all grains now except corn. 🤷

Add a little hot sauce and you’re good. Also it’s good on plain rice.

I like noodle creation — ramen, beans, corn, tuna fish, salt, and green beans — mix it all around and its good stuff! Very healthy as well

Beans and rice is good eating. Carb’s and protein and it’s pretty healthy. It’s basically what they feed the contestants on Survivor if you watch that game show.

I just picked up a rice cooker for $13. Works a treat. May pay to have some rice in your pantry for those snowed in days.

Yes, and beans are really high in fiber. Besides tasting real good.

I make dry pinto beans into refried beans. Brown rice is better for you than white but takes twice as long to cook in a regular pot.
