Every winter our village gets snowed in for like 3-4 days. No traffic in or out.
So I buy tinned food in bulk every fall. I have a lot left over from 2018 so I am using it now. Is just like tinned stew, beans, potatoes and casserole.
Not the healthiest but it needs eating. So having lots of beans on toast lol
If you have flour eggs and salt you can make homemade noodles (well you need boiling water too). I don’t have a rolling pin so I used paper towel roller. So if you’re down to your last cent and are craving pasta. There you go.
We’re eating rice and beans, beans and rice due to money as well. We always say just one gift, but end up getting our kids so much. At least we have something to eat. Also my parents take me grocery shopping when we’re running low on money.
Beans and rice is good eating. Carb’s and protein and it’s pretty healthy. It’s basically what they feed the contestants on Survivor if you watch that game show.
I just picked up a rice cooker for $13. Works a treat. May pay to have some rice in your pantry for those snowed in days.
