Try to refine my craft

3-4 hours per week I’m gonna watch hip hop /rapper/rap beat making tutorials on YouTube.

I’m gonna devote certain hours as if I was a student taking a class.

I need to learn to make my own beats.

Because even though I’m no natural at it, I’m smart and creative enough to do it as supposedly it’s not too hard once you get the hang of it and stuff.

And I read the other day that Eminem is a much greater producer than I thought. So that inspired me to start producing.

And I think I understand it much better now that I’ve thought about it for a year.

I made this song the other day with a broken mic. But for some reason it was cool. I showed it to @zwolfgang and he added some effects to help salvage it. I think it’s one of my best songs.

Even the great composers of old still studied late into their mastery of their craft. I think it’s a great idea dude, keep up that energy, music is an awesome skill to cultivate.

Some great tutorials that I used on youtube to start out were BusyWorksBeats and In the Mix.

BusyWorksBeats makes great long videos that show step by step how to make a beat from the ground up

And In the Mix teaches you mixing and sound design skills to make your beats sound sick as well as have cool synths in there if youre into that
